I’m reaching out to let you know about some exciting announcements regarding the UNICEF Kid Power program for your Technology Holiday Gift Guide. The UNICEF Kid Power Band works in tandem with the interactive UNICEF Kid Power App, allowing kids to go on missions and earn points by getting active. The points then unlock therapeutic food packets which UNICEF delivers to severely malnourished children around the world.
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF has just announced Target will be the exclusive retailer of the UNICEF Kid Power Band, which will be sold online for $39.99 beginning November 29 (available for pre-order now), as well as in select stores starting in 2016. For every purchase of a UNICEF Kid Power Band between October 13, 2015 and December 31, 2016, Target will donate $10 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. The partnership is an expansion of the successful pilot program in Boston, Dallas and New York earlier this year.
In addition, GRAMMY-winning recording artist P!nk will serve as the National Spokesperson for UNICEF Kid Power to educate the public about children who are malnourished around the world. She visited Haiti in July to witness UNICEF’s nutrition, health care and education programs first-hand. Additional supporters of UNICEF Kid Power include Disney and Star Wars: Force for Change, which two of the four available band colors (white and black) represent.
