Uncle Steve’s Italian Specialties are by far one of my favorite Italian sauces. They are make to perfection, with just the right amount of flavor, spices and seasoning.
Steve Schirripa (Uncle Steve) has lived quite a life! He is best known for his role of Bobby Baccalieri on The Sopranos. Steve is also the author of the New York Times bestseller, A Goomba’s Guide to Life. This comical book includes chapters on growing up in Brooklyn, great Goomba’s in History, Goomba recipes and Goomba’s Do’s and Dont’s. His second book The Goomba’s Book of Love and his third The Goomba Diet, For Those with an Appetite for Life, are currently in stores nationwide.

Uncle Steve’s sauce jar varieties consist of 3 flavors: Tomato Basil, Marinara and Arrabiata
Each hand crafted with organic Italian whole peeled tomatoes, organic fresh onions, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic fresh garlic, sea salt, and fresh organic spices.
My favorite sauce out of the 3 is the Arrabiata sauce. I really love my sauces to have a little kick to it. This sauce not only gives your kick, it also leaves you with satisfaction and enjoyment throughout each bite.
My favorite way to eat Uncle Steve’s sauces is with the good ole’ spaghetti with meatballs! The meatballs, noodles and sauce just makes the perfect dinner that beats any high class Italian restaurant.
Spaghetti with meatballs
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 pound ground veal
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 eggs, lightly beaten
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup bread crumbs
6 cups (48 ounces) Uncle Steve’s Marinara Sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound spaghetti
1-2 tablespoons salt
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Combine meat in a mixing bowl with salt and parsley. Add the eggs, garlic and bread crumbs and mix thoroughly.
On a piece of waxed paper, roll the meat into small balls, no larger than one inch.
Heat the oil in a large heavy skillet. Brown the meatballs in the skillet, rolling often to prevent burning and to cook on all sides. When they are browned, remove from pan and drain on paper towels. Heat sauce in a medium saucepan. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
In a large pot, heat four quarts of water with 1-2 tablespoons salt until boiling. Add the spaghetti and cook until done, about 12 to 14 minutes; drain in a colander.
Serve the spaghetti and meatballs with sauce spooned over them. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
