Moose Toys, the fastest-growing toy company in the U.S., topped 2015 U.S. toy sales with Shopkins, the global toy collectible craze. The Shopkins 12-Pack was the hottest selling toy of the year, according to The NPD Group Inc. / Retail Tracking Service.
With more than 199 million Shopkins characters sold in the U.S. to date, the tiny collectibles claimed two of the top four positions in total toys, with the Shopkins 2-pack ranking fourth among the top selling toys of 2015.
“We are thrilled to see Shopkins land at the top – even surpassing all other brands and licenses,” said Paul Solomon, Co-CEO of Moose Toys. “We had high hopes for Shopkins, but we are humbled to see how our fans have embraced the line with so much passion and loyalty.”
Shopkins’ quick rise to the top of Toyland has helped catapult Moose Toys from 25th position just a year ago to the industry’s sixth ranked toy manufacturer in the U.S, according to The NPD Group. With the recent release of Shopkins Season Four leaving empty pegs as it hits retail shelves, the small toy company from Australia continues to make waves in the U.S. with its fresh creativity, keen eye for trend-spotting and their simple mission to make children happy.
