Noodles, tomatoes and Ragu

Who doesn’t like pasta sauce? For this review I got the chance to sample one of Ragu’s new sauces. I purchased the traditional blend because I like to add my own meats and fresh veggies. I was very excited that I was able to test this product because I just love Italian food. My appetite craves anything Italian; pizza, pasta, lasagna; you name it.

I have never had a ‘norm’ pasta sauce brand that is my go to. I always just pick up what’s on sale and go from there. Like I said earlier, I like to customize my sauces to add more intense flavor so it isn’t a huge deal on what brand I buy. However, Ragu, if anything is probably the brand I lean towards, the sauce just has a distant flavor to it, and it tastes fresh, unlike some other brands.

When trying this new sauce, the first thing I noticed was the packaging. After many years, Ragu changed it’s label. I really liked the design it had to it and it really stood out. I started to cook my meal, doing the same thing I do with my sauce, except this time I didn’t flavor it as much because of the fact that I was doing a review. I wanted the full flavor.

I noticed that the flavor still tasted the same, sweet, fresh tomatoes, with a hint of seasoning. Ragu’s basic sauce, was still it’s same. Although, the outside of the jar may look different the inside was still was the same Ragu. I am glad, I would be very disappointed if after many years a brand that is so well-known changed it’s traditional sauce. Ragu has made many new types of sauces that I have tried, but I always stick with my traditional.

Pasta sauces have so many purposes, and I enjoy being able to create endless types of sauces on a weekly basis. My family knows that at least 4 times a week there will be some type of food that has tomatoes, or uses pasta sauce.

Overall, I was very pleased to be able to sample Ragu’s new sauce and I was very happy with the product.

If you haven’t tried Ragu, or aren’t a fan of pasta. I would give it a shot. There is a lot of flavors and recipes to choose from. Don’t be afraid to shy away from the normal.
